Avezzano (AQ), 13 novembre 2010 (read the course description in Italian)

On 13 November 2010 the course on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart for participants was held in Avezzano (Aquila). The course was organized by Annamaria Ferroni from the Local Sanitary Unit 1 of Avezzano, Sulmona and l’Aquila.

Dr Luigi Palmieri and Dr Chiara Donfrancesco from the ISS participated in the course.

The course followed the methodology set out in the Manual and Module 1 was completed. Nineteen GPs attended the course and showed great interest and motivation throughout the duration of the course.

The key-message delivered to participants was the need to apply appropriate preventive strategies (population strategy, high risk strategy) to reduce the number of coronary and cerebrovascular events among patients.

 

Turin, 30 October 2010 (read the course description in Italian)

On 30 October 2010 the course on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart for participants was held in Turin. The course falls under the activities agreed with GPs’ associations.

The course followed the methodology set out in the Manual and modules 1 and 2 were completed. Eight GPs from FIMMG attended the course and showed great interest and motivation throughout the duration of the course.

Dr Andrea Pinzini from the Italian Federation of General Practitioners (FIMMG) participated in the course as trainer. Dr Luigi Palmieri from the ISS participated in the course.

The key-message delivered to participants was the need to apply appropriate preventive strategies (population strategy, high risk strategy) to reduce the number of coronary and cerebrovascular events among patients. Healthy lifestyle counselling was also recommended. 

 

Giulianova (Teramo), 23 October 2010 (read the course description in Italian)

On 23 October 2010 the course on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart for participants was held in Giulianova (Teramo). The course was organized by Carmine Guercioni from the Local Sanitary Unit of Teramo.

Dr Luigi Palmieri and Dr Chiara Donfrancesco from the ISS participated in the course.

The course followed the methodology set out in the Manual and Module 1 was completed. Thirty three GPs attended the course and showed great interest and motivation throughout the duration of the course.

The course for participants on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart was held in Caserta on 6 February 2010 and was conducted according to the national training plan programme.

The course followed the methodology set out in the manual and modules 1 and 2 were completed. Twenty two GPs from SNAMID were trained and received the manual on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart.

The atmosphere was pleasant and GPs showed great interest and motivation.

2009

 

Cagliari, 20 and 27 October 2009 and 10 November 2010 (read the course description in Italian)

Three training courses for participants on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart were held in Cagliari on 20 and 27 October and on 10 November 2009.

The course followed the methodology set out in the manual on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart. Sixty six GPs were trained and received the manual. GPs showed great interest and motivation.

The key-message delivered to participants was the need to apply appropriate preventive strategies (population strategy, high risk strategy) to reduce the number of coronary and cerebrovascular events among patients.

 

2008

 

Trento, 6-9 October 2008 (read the course description in Italian)

A four-day course on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart was held in Trento from 6 to 9 October 2008. The first two days were dedicated to trainers. On the third and fourth day, according to course methodology, the 14 newly trained GPs were divided into two groups: the first, consisting of 8 trainers, trained 43 participant GPs, and the second, consisting of 6 trainers, trained 33 participant GPs. The key-message delivered to participants was the need to apply appropriate preventive strategies to reduce the number of coronary and cerebrovascular events among patients and to apply risk chart not only to high risk persons but also to those to be kept under control through lifestyle.

On 5 and 6 September 2008 the course on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart for participants was held in Olbia. The course was attended by 26 GPs. Nocera Inferiore (SA), 24-27 September 2008 (read the course description in Italian)

A four-day course on the use and application of cardiovascular risk chart was held from 24 to 27 September 2008. A total of 13 participants were trained: 6 GPs, three directors of local sanitary units, two cardiologists, one diabetologist and one neurologist. The key-message delivered, shared with trainers, was the need to apply appropriate preventive strategies (population strategy, high-risk strategy) to reduce the number of coronary and cerebrovascular events among patients.

During the two days, patient’s data collected by general practitioners from Vittoria District through the cuore.exe software for the assessment of cardiovascular risk were presented and discussed.

Castrovillari, 18-19 May 2007 (read the course description in Italian)

From 22nd to 25th May 2006, the course for trainers was held in Catanzaro, following the methodology set out in the manual: during the first two days 9 people attended the course for trainers, on the third and fourth day the newly trained GPs trained other 17 people. Eleven Local Health Units were invited but only 9 accepted. The Calabria Region Plan foresees in each Local Health Unit the presence of a group dedicated to cardiovascular risk assessment, identified by the Regional Council and consisting of the Responsible for organization (a cardiologist), the district Director and a primary care physician. One of them from each Local Health Unit attended the course for trainers, while the other two attended the course for participants during the third and fourth day. The course for participants involved also representatives from blood donor associations. On 24th and 25th November 2006 some of the GPs who attended the course for trainers held a seminar for 16 other GPs from the province of Cosenza. On 12th and 13th December 2006 some of the GPs who attended the course for trainers held a seminar for 18 other GPs from the province of Vibo Valentia.

On 9th and 10th May 2007 some of the GPs who had attended the course for trainers held a seminar in Palmi for 28 other GPs from the province of Reggio Calabria. On 18th and 19th May 2007 some of the GPs who had attended the course for trainers held a seminar in Castrovillari for 23 other GPs from the province of Cosenza.

On 23rd and 24th January 12 GPs were trained. The plan developed by the Aosta Valley Region foresees that these 12 newly trained GPs train another 98 colleagues in the region. Following the course methodology, on 25th and 26th January the 12 newly trained GPs were divided into two groups of 6 trainers each who in turn trained other 13 GPs.

On 29th and 30th January the 12 GPs who attended the training course held a seminar for other 37 GPs.

 

Villanovaforru (MD), 15-18 January 2007 (read the course description in Italian)

The course followed the methodology set out in the manual. On 15th and 16th January 2 neurologists, 8 cardiologists and 6 GPs were trained. The day after they were divided into three groups. Each group trained 57 GPs on 17th January and 55 on 18th January.

The course followed the methodology set out in the manual. On 8th and 9th January 7 GPs, 2 cardiologists and 1 hygiene, preventive medicine and oncology specialist were trained. On 10th and 11th January, the 10 newly trained GPs proceeded to train 8 colleagues.

On 8th and 9th March some of the newly trained GPs held a course for 27 students from the School of Specialisation in General Practice.

In Milan on 16th and 17th June 2006 the first two days of the course for trainers on the use and application of the cardiovascular risk chart were held, following the methodology set out in the manual. The course was attended by 14 GPs from SNAMID working in northern Italian regions (Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, independent province of Trento).

In Milan a meeting was held on 16th November 2006 among the trainers who had attended the course held in June. During the meeting each of the trainers gave a presentation related to modules 1 and 2 of the training course on the use and application of the cardiovascular risk chart.

 

Palermo, 6-11 November 2006 (read the course description in Italian)

The course followed the methodology set out in the manual: on 6th and 7th November 18 GPs were trained; on 8th and 9th November these newly trained GPs were divided in two groups of 5 trainers each who in turn trained a group of 9 GPs (Caltanissetta) and another one of 17 (Caltagirone and Vittoria). On 10th and 11th November a group of 6 newly trained GPs trained 17 other GPs (Canicattì, Partinico and Alcamo).

 

S. Alessio Siculo (ME), 3-5 November 2006 (read the course description in Italian)

The course involved 20 GPs from the National Society of Medical Education (SNAMID); 12 of them attended the course for trainers. Two of these 20 GPs work in the Emilia Romagna region, the others in central and southern Italian regions (Lazio, Molise, Campania, Basilicata, Apulia, Calabria, Sicily).

During the first two days of the course (26th and 27th June 2006), 14 GPs were trained. On the third and fourth day (19th and 26th September) the newly trained GPs trained other 90 persons. According to the course methodology, the 14 newly trained GPs were divided into groups of three-four members each who trained 20-25 persons, including GPs, operators of blood transfusion centres and the competent physicians (internal safety) working at the Local Health Unit of Pescara. On 20th and 27th September, modules 1 and 2 were repeated by trainers for other 90 GPs, without the support of representatives from CNESPS. A total of 180 GPs were trained.
