The CUORE project was launched in 1998 and is coordinated by the National Institute of Health.

 

It is funded by 1% of the Italian National Health Fund as ‘The CUORE Project’  – Epidemiology and prevention of ischaemic heart diseases - and ‘The CUORE II Project’ – Assessment of individual risk, structure and therapeutic-prognostic strategies for cardiovascular disease

 

Since 2005, the project is listed among  those of the National Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Ministry of Health, Rome.
